NPT PrepCom Meeting 2003 in Geneva
The Preparatory Committee for the 2005 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) will hold its second session at the United Nations Office at Geneva from 28 April to 9 May 2003 (NPT PrepCom).
As in previous years, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all over the world will contribute to the meeting with their own activities. A highlight will be the delegates' session on April 30 with eleven NGO presentations on topics such as the urgency for abolishing nuclear weapons, gender and disarmament, nuclear strategies of nuclear weapons states, Northeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone, missile defense and the prevention of an arms race in outer space, health effects, indigenous perspectives, South Asian proliferation, and "non-proliferation from below".
